As I was walking into the Hotel Allegro, I immediately noticed the gorgeous Art Deco detail. I love the 1920’s, so I was all for staying in a location where I felt like a flapper would come strolling in on the arm of a man in a snazzy striped blazer at any moment! The front desk staff seemed to be as delighted with the beautiful decor as I was and shared some of the history of the building when I commented on the amazing chandelier over their desk. It seems some of the details are restored and original to the building.
Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, although on the small side. A complimentary drink at the bar was included in our stay, as was morning coffee or tea in the lobby. There is also a nice selection of newspapers available in the lobby each morning.
Pro tip – to get free WiFi, join the KimptonKarma Rewards Program. During my stay, joining the rewards program gave me access to free WiFi and allowed me to log the first of my stays toward earning a free night. There are additional benefits available, most of which come into play as you use Kimpton hotels more frequently.
While I was excited to start wandering the streets of Chicago, I couldn’t resist spending quite some time exploring the hotel first. It really is a breathtaking place.
